5 Day Uganda gorilla and Wildlife Safari Detailed itinerary

Day 1: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National park.

Proceeding an early breakfast, we will depart Kampala for Bwindi. A quick stop at the equator will ensure we are well fed with a healthy breakfast. We will take some photos and do some hemispheric experiments. We shall continue through Kabale where we will enjoy the scenic views of the terraced hills. After a lunch stop over, we will continue and enter Bwindi impenetrable forest. En-route, we will enjoy the views and sounds of the forest. A few primates like L’hoist monkeys, baboons, and black and white colobus can be seen along the edge of the forest. On arrival, we will check into the lodge and relax for the evening. The breathtaking views of the forest offer a serene Uganda safari experience.

Day 2: Gorilla trekking.

On the second day of this 5 Day Uganda gorilla and Wildlife Safari, we will have an early breakfast in preparation for our gorilla trekking. At the park headquarters, we will be briefed on the rules and regulations of gorilla trekking. We shall then be allocated into different groups of 8, each group trekking a different gorilla family.

With our guides, we will enter the impenetrable forest in search of the gorilla. The journey through the forest is thrilling. The sound of chirping sounds of the birds truly make the trek epic. Upon seeing the gorillas, we will have an hour with the families. We will take as many pictures as possible, observe their behaviors as they interact with one another. The trekking takes 2-8 hours depending on the location of the gorilla families. After the gorilla trekking, we will return to the lodge for a relaxing afternoon. This gives us the chance to enjoy the sounds and views of the forest on this Uganda Safari.

Day 3: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth

Following breakfast, we will check out of our in Bwindi impenetrable national head for Queen Elizabeth national park. This journey amazingly scenic views of the rift valley. We will drive through the Ishasha sector famous for the tree climbing lions. We hope to see more wildlife like kobs, elephants, buffalo and many more. On arrival, we will check into our lodge and relax for the afternoon.

In the evening, we will head out into the park for an evening game drive. This game drive will take place on the kasenyi plains. On this drive, we hope lions, leopards, hyenas, elephants, kobs, buffaloes, hippos and so many more. We will see the kasenyi crater where salt is mined. A lot of bird species like the malachite kingfisher and saddle billed stork can be seen on this game drive. We will return to the lodge and enjoy our evening of this Uganda Safari

Day 4: Game Drive and Boat cruise.

After a restful evening, we will embark on an early game drive. This game drive allows us to see the wildlife we may have missed the previous evening. This drive also allows more time to enjoy the wildlife. The drive will last up to 4 hours and we will return to the lodge for an early lunch.

The boat cruise on the Kazinga channel is the activity for the afternoon. After an early lunch, we will head out onto the Kazinga channel for the afternoon boat cruise. This is a relaxing safari activity that allows you close proximity with elephants drinking by the channel. Hippos, crocodiles, kobs, crocodiles and waterbucks are some of the animals that are seen on this boat cruise. The boat cruise allows you to enjoy a breathe of fresh air on your 5 Uganda gorilla and Wildlife Safari. The views of the river banks, the tranquility as the flock of birds fly in unison will leave pleasant memories on your Uganda safari. We will return to the lodge for the evening.

Day 5: Return to Kampala.

On the last day of this 5 Day Uganda gorilla and Wildlife Safari, we will have a lazy morning. We will have a late breakfast, check out of the lodge and depart for Kampala. We will make a stop at Igongo cultural center for lunch before proceeding to Kampala. On arrival, the guide will drop you at your hotel or the airport in time for your flight.
